"It was great. Check this out. I just recently found out that I work with the son of a player from the black negro league. My co-workers father just passed and including in the program are pictures of his dad as a team player for the 'Harrisburg Giants' and the Black Sox's. Let me tell you I was truly impressed. "I did watch this segment of the David Letterman program and throughly enjoyed listening to Buck O'Neil. What an amazing gentleman. I can't imagine what it was like playing baseball back then and then to have such outstanding athletes not being able to participate in the major leagues. I am currently working on oral history of the Hispanics in our area hera and they basically experienced the same road blocks the Negros experienced in the baseball profession. There was a Rocky Mountain Baseball League that the teams in Northern Colorado belonged to and many of them we made up totally of Mexicans because the Whites would not allow them to play on their team so they literally formed their own. Collecting data on this topic has been so exciting for me. We have actually gone out and interviewed individuals and to sit they and hear them tell there stories with such passion you just can't help but get caught up in the moment. I am a big time baseball fan and hope one day to get to the Negro Baseball Museum. Also we did an oral history video with the City of Fort Collins and there is a small piece on the baseball here, it you would like to obtain a copy of our video, just send me your address and I will get one to you. Once again thanks again about the tip on Buck O'Neil."
